Front Doors: Make an Entrance!

I like it when the front door isn't an afterthought on a house.  Why wouldn't you like to feel as if you are making an entrance every time you walk inside your home?  It shouldn't matter whether your house is traditional or contemporary, a sprawling mansion or a narrow townhouse.  (Sadly, it does matter if you are an apartment renter in New York City!)

I have been collecting images of front doors for a couple of years now and the doors above are some of my favorites.  Some doors are painted bold colors that really pop while others boast truly amazing custom hardware.  Sometimes, it is the architecture of the house itself that visually frames the doors.  And of course, there are doors of unusual proportions that add the element of instant drama.
